Making Research Work for Patients: Strength Training During Hormone Therapy Huddle
July 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Researchers at the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center are developing a study to evaluate whether a 12-week strength training program may help women with early-stage breast cancer manage some of the side effects of hormone therapy, such as muscle weakness, fatigue, and changes in muscle mass.
During this Huddle, Dr. Sneha Phadke, the breast medical oncologist leading this study, will gather feedback from patient advocates on the proposed study. She is looking for input on the feasibility of participating in the strength training program, the relevance of the participant questionnaires, and the practicality of study activities completed at home.
Your feedback will help ensure the study is patient-centered and designed with participants in mind before it moves forward.
