Our 2023 Annual Impact Report: Building Bridges Across Borders

Explore how GRASP fostered global connections between advocates and researchers, from in-person poster meetups to virtual Huddles, in a year of growth and collaboration.

We’re excited to share our 2023 Annual Impact Report, celebrating a year of connection, collaboration, and meaningful progress in patient-centered cancer research. Since GRASP’s founding in 2019, we’ve worked to break down barriers between patient advocates and researchers, and this year’s report highlights how that vision continues to grow across the globe.

In 2023, we expanded our reach and deepened our impact. GRASP returned to in-person Poster Meetups at smaller, more intimate conferences, including the Metastatic Breast Cancer Research Conference in Utah and the Advanced Breast Cancer Consensus Conference in Lisbon, Portugal. These face-to-face interactions created powerful opportunities for advocates and researchers to share experiences and foster collaboration.

Internationally, GRASP chaired a session on patient inclusion in research at the ESMO Breast meeting in Berlin, bringing together voices from across the scientific and advocacy communities. Meanwhile, our GRASP Reception at SABCS 2023 has become a staple of the conference, providing space for informal conversations between scientists, clinicians, and patient advocates.

We also hosted several virtual Huddles, continuing to offer small-group discussions that place patient perspectives at the center of important cancer research topics.

As we reflect on 2023, we are deeply grateful to the advocates, scientists, partners, and supporters who make this work possible. Together, we’re creating spaces where dialogue leads to discovery and driving meaningful change in cancer research.

Our Annual Impact Report celebrates your dedication and partnership. As we look ahead, we’re inspired by the progress we’ve made—and by the possibilities still to come.
